Barbara
Brian
Barbara Brian is a
student of TKV Desikachar
and is the founderand Director
of Agama Yoga Centre,
establishing the teachings
of T Krishnamacharya
in Melbourne , Australia
. Barbara has been
teaching yoga for
20 years, offering
yoga classes for the
young and healthy,
those with specific
needs recovering from
injury or illness
and preparation for
parenthood. Yoga for
all stages of life.
She has developed
a comprehensive program
of both group and
private classes where
individual needs and
abilities are respected.
Barbara conducts interstate
and international
workshops sharing
these teachings and
a comprehensive teacher
training course.
Barbara is a KHYF
certified Yoga Teacher
and Trainer at the
centre.

Lance
Coughlin
Lance
has been practicing
yoga for the last
18 years with his
mentor Barbara Brian.
He comes from a corporate
background consulting
in computer software
training. Sports like
kayaking, running,
swimming and cycling
led him to discover
yoga. His studies
of yoga deepened and
eventually he became
a yoga teacher at
Agama Yoga Centre
in 2001 and over the
last 4 years he has
been assisting in
the teacher training
programs and workshops
for post graduates.
A special interest
that is emerging for
Lance is exploring
ways to encourage
more men to be involved
in yoga. Lance is
a KHYF certified Yoga
Teacher and Trainer
at the centre. |

Elizabeth
Cox
Elizabeth has a dynamic
approach which is attractive
to both beginners and
experienced alike. She
has developed the midweek
early morning class
and has a wide experience
of the classes at the
centre and tutors in
the teacher training
course. Elizabeth is
a KHYF certified Yoga
Teacher at the centre.

Nicole
Seckinger
Nicole is an
experienced therapeutic
teacher with special
interests in children’s
yoga and mothers and
babies classes. Nicole
is a KHYF certified
Yoga Teacher and is studying to be a yoga therapist at the
centre.

Kelly Davies
Kelly was trained at Agama Yoga Centre and is now a student of Kausthub Desikachar. Manager and assistant to Barbara,Kelly has extensive experience in adaptation, skilled in offering support or providing challenge where appropriate. This sensitivity is particularly evident in her prenatal classes. Her special interests are in meditation and Yoga sutra. Kelly along with Barbara Brian travel to India each year to further there studies. Kelly also teaches yoga and meditation for corporate companies in the CBD, where the emphasis is on managing stress and relaxation, and at hospitals offering rehabilitation. Kelly is a KHYF certified Yoga Teacher and Trainerat the centre. She is continuing ongoingstudy as a Yoga therapist.

Asa Myren
Asa is a
committed yoga teacher
and studies regularly
with her mentor and
teacher Barbara Brian.
She has undertaken
studies at the KYM
and Vedavani in India
. Asa’s classes
are thorough with
an emphasis on the
breath, combining
body and breathwork
to build flexibility,
strength and clarity
of mind. Her special
interests are chanting
and yoga philosophy.
Asa is an accredited
yoga teacher of the
KHYF and is currently
in training as a yoga
therapist.

Arlene Kaplan
Arlene has been studying and teaching yoga since 2001. She has a diploma in Health/ yoga and has recently graduated as a KHYF yoga teacher in the Krishnamacharya tradition, studying under the mentorship of her teacher Barbara Brian. She assists her students to experience the depth of body and breath connection to achieve strength and flexibility in an holistic way. Arlene is also an experienced teacher of children and has facilitated yoga in schools for the past 10 years.

Annie Maver
Annie trained at Agama yoga Centre in 2000 after being a student of yoga for the last 12 years. With a background in creative arts and acting Annie brings this creative flow into her classes. She is a fluid and energetic teacher and takes particular interest and care in building a strong dynamic practice. Annie is a KHYF certified Yoga Teacher at the centre..
